Air System Mattress
Air System Mattress - Alternating Pressure Mattress
Air System Mattress. Alternating Pressure Mattress systems provide pressure therapy and redistribution by filling and un-filling air cells within the mattress so that contact points with the body are reduced. The changes in air pressure are modest—every other air cell deflating slightly—but enough to relieve pressure points on the user. Low air loss and alternating pressure mattress systems are ideal for those in need of pressure ulcer therapy. Some alternating pressure and low air loss mattress system feature a high-volume pump with static setting. These mattresses can promote healing and prevention of pressure ulcers. Some systems are highly effective, highly customizable that provide both lateral rotation therapy and low air loss therapy. The goal of these air systems is to redistribute pressure allowing normal blood flow and promoting healing.
